FS25 Sheep Farming Guide and Wool Production
In Farming Simulator 25, you can raise sheep and produce wool. To raise sheep, you need to build a sheep barn. The game features Bentheim, Steinschaf, Swiss Black-Brown Mountain, and Black Welsh Mountain sheep breeds. The only difference between them is their color. You can keep each breed on separate farms, or have all breeds together on a single farm.
Building a Sheep Barn
You can access the construction menu by going to the Shop (P) and clicking the Construction button under the Other tab. In the construction menu that opens, click the Animals tab on the left side, and when you navigate to the Sheep section from the top navigation menu, you will see the sheep barns you can build.

While the open pasture sheep barn requires feed and water, closed sheep barns automatically provide water to the animals. The pastures of all barns here can be customized. When you increase the pasture capacity, the number of sheep you can feed in the barn changes. If you do not plan to change the pasture size, the maximum number of sheep the barn can hold when built will be equal to the default building capacity value.
Feed Supply for Sheep
Raising sheep is a relatively cheap type of livestock farming that takes less time compared to other breeds. Sheep consume grass and hay. Both feed materials are 100% effective. Grass is an easy-to-maintain crop suitable for growing in all soil types (Precision Farming DLC), which can be harvested every 3 months (first month of growth after harvest, second month initial maturity period, and third month maximum yield period) except in winter.

For this reason, if you are considering raising sheep, planting grass in your field will be very beneficial.

When the grass matures, you can cut it with grass mowers, and using a Forage Wagon, you can collect the chopped grass from the ground and transfer it to the sheep barn.

Why Does It Require Less Time?
Sheep do not consume as much feed as cows and pigs. They do not require attention like horses do. Unlike chickens, there is no need to constantly empty the output station and provide feed. If you have built a standard sheep barn and placed sheep up to the barn’s capacity, it is sufficient to fill the feeder every 4 months. Again, at the end of these 4 months, you can collect the wool from the output station.

Utilizing the Produced Wool
You can sell the produced wool directly, or you can set up your own facility to turn it into fabric, adding value and selling it at a higher price. On some maps, it is also possible to produce clothing. In other words, by setting up another facility and turning the fabric into clothing, you can achieve maximum profit. Wool reaches its highest selling price in April. If you wait until April, you will earn maximum profit.

Although setting up a facility is a costly endeavor, it is ideal for paying itself off within a few years and multiplying the profit. Additionally, although the production chains in the game may seem tedious due to the repeated loading of the product, you will enjoy the high income earned and the sight of your rapidly expanding farm.

How Does Sheep Breeding Work?
In the game, sheep are not separated into males and females. Therefore, there is no need for a male or female for them to breed. A sheep that has reached 8 months of age is considered to have reached puberty. Every sheep will breed in 5 months if its health status is 100%, provided, of course, that there is sufficient capacity in the barn.

In other words, if you want to lamb your sheep and sell them, you need to constantly make room for new lambs in the sheep barn. Sheep can be sold at a higher price as they are fed longer. Sheep that are 30-40 months old will be worth more than ?1000. However, since it requires a very long time, wool and fabric production will be more profitable.
Is There an Age Limit for Wool Production?
Sheep need to be at least 5 months old for wool production. In other words, newly born lambs do not produce wool until they are 5 months old. For them to participate in wool production at full capacity, they need to be 8 months old.
