FS25 Growing Sugar Beet for Maximum Yield Bonus

In this guide we explain both sugar beet planting, care and harvest steps, and how to get maximum yield, step by step.

Sugar Beet Planting Season: March – April

Sugar Beet Growth Time: 7 Months

Sugar Beet Harvest Season: October – November

Sugar Beet Max yield

Sugar beet is a plant from which most of the world’s sugar is produced. Because of its high sugar content, it is processed in sugar mills into the white and brown sugar we consume. The remaining pulp is used as animal feed in many countries.

In Farming Simulator 25, sugar is part of many production chains. That is why sugar beet production is very important. If you want to make more profit from sugar beets, check the how to produce sugar section at the bottom of this article.

August – We harvested wheat from a field planted with wheat.

FS25 Mulcher

August – We organically process the former wheat field with a mulcher (Yield bonus 2.5%)

FS25 Lime

August – Because of the Needs Lime warning, we spread lime on the field. (Yield Bonus 15%)

FS25 Plowing

August – Because of the Needs Plow warning, we plow with a plow. (Yield Bonus 15%)

FS25 Cultivator

August – It is still early to plant sugar beet, but we prepare the field: we make it ready for planting with a cultivator.

FS25 Planter and Liquid Fertilizer

March – I chose a planter that can spread liquid fertilizer and seed. We started planting sugar beet (Fertilizer Step 1: 22.5% yield bonus)

Y – This key changes the plantable seed on the planter. Do not forget to select Sugar Beet.

Rolling FS25

March – The seeds are exposed; we need to cover them with a roller (Yield Bonus 2.5%)

FS25 Fertilizer

April – With a narrow-tire tractor (so it does not damage the planted crop), we apply the 2nd fertilizer to the field. (Yield bonus 22.5%)

Because we took all bonuses, maximum yield becomes 100%.

Sugar Beet Harvest Operations

Sugar beet harvesters are found in Shop > Root Crops > Beet Harvesters and Beet Harvester Headers. Sugar beet harvest is done first with a header that removes the foliage, then with a harvester that digs the beets from under the ground. Now let’s cover the harvesters.

Cheapest Method (Using a tractor, header and collector)

If you have a medium (min 280 HP) tractor, with this method you can get a sugar beet harvester with a 6 meter working width.

You will need to work in 2 passes. First you separate the foliage from the roots on the field to be harvested, then you collect them.

You can buy the AMITYTECH 3750 Defoliator (header) and the AMITYTECH 2720 Harvester Scrub from Shop > Beet Harvesters.

B – The implement starts working by taking power from the PTO

O – Opens the unloading belt and, if there is a trailer under it, starts unloading

CTRL + I (If the unloading belt is open) Unloads at the current location

Advantage – Harvesting with a wide 6 meter working width

Disadvantage – 2 workloads for foliage cutting and collecting. Low bunker capacity

Effortless Method

The Agrifac LightTraxx is a harvester that includes its own foliage cutter header. Because its price is top tier, you can consider the previous method in the early stage.

Advantage: Foliage cutting and sugar beet harvest at the same time with one machine. High maneuverability from the rear tires.

Disadvantage: Very expensive, relatively low bunker capacity and 3 meter working width

High Collection Capacity Method

Because sugar beet is a heavy crop by weight, you will quickly harvest tons of product. That is why constantly filling and unloading can be tiring. You can buy the HOLMER Terra Dos 5-40 and Ropa Tiger 6S from the category. For these you also need to buy the HOLMER HR 6 foliage cutter header and the Ropa RR-XL 9×45 header.

Front Cutter Header:

X – Unfolds the folded implement for cutting.

V – Lowers it to field height.

B – Turn the implement on (You must first unfold the harvester with X.)

Harvester (Ropa and HOLMER)

X – Unfolds the harvester.

B – Turns the harvester on.

How to Cut Sugar Beet in FS25

For this we need a front loader. To cut the sugar beets we dumped on the ground, we use Shop > Loaders > Front Loader Tools > Fliegl Ruby 2000.

We attach the implement to a front loader and fill the bucket with sugar beet. Then we start cutting the sugar beets with the “B” key.
