How to Set Up a Factory in Big Ambitions

In Big Ambitions, you cannot source every product from wholesalers or importers. Some items must be manufactured yourself because no importer or wholesaler sells them. These are usually high-margin products.

For example, expensive jewelry for jewelry stores, expensive men’s and women’s clothing for clothing stores, and smartwatches and phones for electronics stores can only be obtained through manufacturing.

(If you are playing in Sandbox mode, you can disable this requirement. If you are playing the story campaign, manufacturing is essential.)

To build a factory, you need to rent warehouse space. Once rented, you can convert that warehouse into a factory.

Every manufactured product has a recipe. Press F1 and open the Factory Recipes menu to view them. For example, expensive jewelry requires raw materials such as Uncut Gems (Expensive) and Metal Band.

You can buy raw materials from importer companies. To do this, you must set up a Headquarters and hire a Purchasing Agent.

Buying raw materials alone is not enough to produce an item. You also need factory machines to process the materials stored in your inventory. Purchase machines from Factory Supply Depot, the appliance store that sells factory equipment.

Place enough Pallet Shelves in your factory to store raw materials and finished goods. Without them, purchased materials may not be delivered to the factory, and finished products may have nowhere to go.

Some Machines You Can Buy

Consumer Goods Assembly Machine: Used to assemble products across many categories. You can produce clothing, jewelry, electronics, and all book products with this machine.

Food Assembly Machine: Used for bottled food products, alcohol, hair care products, everything sold at fast-food restaurants, and produce such as apples and bananas sold at grocery stores.

Additional machines can be attached to the two main machines above. Which ones you need depends on what you want to produce.

Examples include Automated Baking Machine, Hydroponic Planter, Laser Cutting Machine, Bottling Machine, Industrial Blending Machine, Industrial Sewing Machine, Kiln Machine, and Polishing Machine.

Example Machine Setups by Recipe

Expensive Jewelry

For expensive jewelry, buy a Consumer Goods Assembly Machine. You will also need a Laser Cutting Machine to cut gems and a Polishing Machine to polish them.

Phones, Smartwatches, and Headphones

To produce phones, you need a Consumer Goods Assembly Machine, plus a Laser Cutting Machine and Kiln Machine to process materials.

Clothing

To produce expensive clothing, you again need a Consumer Goods Assembly Machine, along with a Laser Cutting Machine and Industrial Sewing Machine to process materials.

Setting Up a Production Line in Your Factory

Once you place one of the two main production machines, you can attach two additional support machines. For whatever you plan to manufacture, place one main machine and the support machines that feed it, following the arrow indicators.

When you open your factory through BizMan, you can manage your production lines in the Factory tab. There you can choose which product each line will make and how many units to produce.

In the Schedule section, you can assign the factory workers you hired to operate these machines.

Every factory has truck bays for moving finished goods to your warehouse or retail stores. Place trucks in these bays and hire Delivery Drivers. With a Logistics Manager assigned at your Headquarters, you can automate deliveries.
