How to Get Water in FS25

In Farming Simulator 25, water is required for greenhouses, animal pastures, and rice farming. In older Farming Simulator games, you could fill up by driving a tanker trailer up to a body of water such as a lake or stream. In FS22 and FS25, however, you need to build a Water Tank for this.

How to Build a Water Tank

If you want to build a water tank in Farming Simulator 25, open the construction menu.

Tip: Construction Menu

From there, go to Buildings at the top of the menu on the left, then open the Containers category in the tabs. At the bottom you will see a Water Tank and an Old Wind Wheel With Water Tank. Place either one on land you own.

Filling a Water Tank Trailer

To buy a tanker trailer, open the shop with the “P” key, then under the Animals category open Barrels and buy a water tanker trailer with the capacity you need.

Then drive the water tanker trailer up to the fill icon next to the Water Tank and press “R” to start filling.

Unloading Water at a Building That Needs It

On buildings that need a water supply, you will see a water drop icon. That is the unload area. When you bring the water tanker trailer into that area, an unload icon will appear at the bottom. When that icon shows up, press “I” to unload.

Does Filling With Water Cost Money?

When you place a Water Tank on your land, you pay for every liter of water you fill. 1,000 liters of water costs $285. If you do not want to pay for water use, you need to build the Old Wind Wheel With Water Tank instead. Water you fill from that building does not cost money.

Can You Fill Water From a Riverbank or Lakeshore?

In Farming Simulator 25 and Farming Simulator 22, water supply only comes from Water Tanks you build. You cannot fill water from a stream or lakeshore.

Can We Melt Snow Into Water?

Unfortunately, that is not possible. If you are not using a mod, you cannot collect snow and turn it into water. Some mods, however, let you store snow in winter and use it as water in spring and summer.
