Which Equipment Does What in Farming Simulator 25?

Farming Simulator 25 includes a wide range of equipment and farming implements. We have explained every piece of equipment and farming tool you can buy in the in-game store and use on your farm. Tractors, combines, trucks, and cars are not covered here – you already know what those are for 🙂

Leitwolf Agripower

Used to compact grass and forage maize that you have stored in the bunker silo and ferment them into silage.

Ropa Nawaro Maus

Equipment used to easily load crops you had to dump on the ground into trailers.

Loaders

These machines are used to move or load items such as pallets, big bags, silage bales, loose crops on the ground, and logs from one place to another or into trailers. What sets them apart is their maneuverability and carrying capacity. For example, with Front Loader Vehicles you can carry 3 bales, while with Wheel Loaders you can move 8 bales from one place to another.

Auger Wagons

Unlike regular trailers, Auger Wagons have their own auger and are harvest trailers that can unload collected crops into other trailers with little effort.

Changing System

By buying a trailer chassis and mounting different body types on it, you can have tipper, bulk, flatbed, or tanker-style trailers. It takes a bit of effort, but it gives you the chance to haul almost everything with a single piece of equipment.

Flatbed Trailers

This store category includes trailers you can use to transport bales, pallets, big bags, logs, and even small farming implements (if you have a loading ramp).

Low Loaders

Trailers with their own loading ramp that can be attached to a truck or tractor to haul slow and oversized farming implements over long distances.

Semi Trailers

These are semi-trailer bodies that players who want a large farm and high crop output can attach to trucks to haul field products to the silo or sell point in one trip after harvest. They can carry more crops than tractor trailers.

Plows

Farmland needs to be plowed at certain intervals. Plowing gives a yield bonus. It aerates the soil and softens ground that has hardened for the next seeding.

Cultivators

Cultivators are used to prepare plowed fields or harvested fields for the next seeding.

Disc Harrows

Disc harrows do the same job as cultivators. They work the soil at a shallow depth and get the field ready for seeding.

Power Harrows

Power harrows perform the same operation as cultivators, but at a shallow level. In real life, they break up soil clumps on a plowed field so it is ready for seeding.

Subsoilers

Used for deeper soil working. Especially useful if you grew deep-rooted crops, as they break up compacted soil underneath. They are used for the same purpose in real life: working the subsoil improves water permeability and softens the deeper ground so roots can develop better in the next crop.

Mulchers

Mulching machines work leftover roots from cereals such as wheat and barley into the topsoil and spread them across the field so they act as fertilizer. In the game, this has only a small effect on the next harvest yield.

Spaders

This is equipment for digging/spading the soil. Instead of splitting the ground like a plow, it works the soil with shovel-like tines.

Stone Pickers

As you do deep soil work with plows and cultivators, stones from deeper layers rise to the field surface. Stone buildup increases with every pass. Stone Pickers collect stones of any size that have come up to the surface. If stones are not collected, equipment used on that field wears out faster.

Seeders

Seeders used to sow wheat, barley, oats, canola, long grain rice, weeds, grass, peas, and spinach. Depending on the model, some also have liquid and solid fertilizer hoppers. Those models both seed the field and apply fertilizer.

Planters

Equipment used to plant crops such as maize, sorghum, sunflowers, soybeans, cotton, green beans, and sugar beet. Depending on the model you choose, they may also have solid and liquid fertilizer hoppers. Planter models with a fertilizer hopper both plant seed and apply fertilizer.

Seed Tanks

Extra seed hopper equipment you can attach to the front of the tractor for Seeders and Planters. They only support the main seeding implements at the rear so they can carry more seed.

Seeds

The seed used by seeding machines. Brand does not matter – each one has the same effect.

Sprayers

These machines are used to control weeds and apply liquid fertilizer. For weed control, herbicide can be used once weeds have grown beyond the size that a weeder can dry out. Liquid fertilizer is more expensive, but applying it over a wide area saves time.

Manure Spreaders

Trailers that spread solid animal manure on fields. They let you handle fertilizing with organic manure. You can obtain solid manure by setting up a cow farm or by going to the animal dealer sell point.

Fertilizer Spreaders

You can buy bags of solid mineral fertilizer, fill these machines, and fertilize your fields. Each fertilizer application increases the next yield.

Lime Spreaders

The Bredal K105 and Streumaster FW 212 TD Profi models (found in the Fertilizer Spreaders category) are used to spread lime on fields. You can buy lime as big bags from the store.

Slurry Tankers

You can fill slurry tankers with organic liquid animal manure from an animal farm (if you own a cow farm) or from the animal dealer sell point, and fertilize your fields at a very low cost. Some models have a built-in spreader. Others need a spreader attachment from the Slurry Tools category.

Slurry Tools

Spreader attachments mounted on slurry tanker trailers. They are used to spread liquid cow manure over the field surface.

Slurry Transport

Equipment used only for transport: load liquid animal manure from a cow farm to fill a Slurry Tanker, or sell it at a biogas plant. A tractor or truck is required to use them.

Weeders

Equipment you can use in the first stage of weed control. They remove weeds that appear while the crop is still young. After this operation, weeds will not grow back. If you are too late, a sprayer must be used.

Rollers

Seeded crops need to be covered. This equipment is used for that. After seeding a field, you need to drive this machine over the planted land.

Forage Harvester

Very powerful harvest machines widely used in the feed industry to cut grass and maize for silage before they fully mature. They have no own storage. You need to attach a trailer at the rear.

Forage Headers

Cutting headers you attach to Forage Harvesters. Each one is used for different crop types and carries out the harvest.

Header Trailers

Small trailers you can hitch behind a forage harvester or a normal combine to transport cutter headers and place the header on them.

Holaras MES 400

This equipment is a compactor and collector attached to a tractor, used to pack grass and forage maize stored in bunker silos so they can ferment and later turn into silage.

Holaras Stego 485 PRO

This equipment attaches to a tractor and is used to drive over the bunker silo and compact the material.

Mowers

Grass mowers that run on the tractor’s front and rear PTO and are used to mow grass fields.

Tedders

Spread and aerate cut grass on the field surface to dry it.

Windrowers

Form scattered or densely clumped cut grass or dried grass into a single windrow so it is easier to collect.

Forage Wagons

A trailer with a pickup unit at the front and a hopper at the rear, used to collect chopped straw, grass, dried grass, and similar products from the field surface and unload them into a bunker silo or animal barns.

Grassland Care (Dalbo Maxiroll 630 Greenline)

A roller that increases grass field yield by rolling/compacting the grass. If you do not want to use this equipment, wait 1 month after the grass has grown before harvesting.

Silage Additive

A consumable used with a Forage Wagon or Forage Harvester to treat collected crops so they ferment more easily. The equipment must have a tank for this product. You can refill it as the tank runs empty.

Square Balers

Square balers that pick up products such as chopped straw, grass, and dried grass from the ground and turn them into bales. Depending on the model you choose, you can create 120 cm, 180 cm, or 240 cm bales.

Round Balers

Balers used to produce round bales. Some models include a silage wrapping add-on so that if you are baling chopped grass, you can convert it directly into silage bales. Wrapped bales do not become silage immediately – fermentation takes some time.

Bale Transport

A category that includes flatbed trailers, bale spikes mounted on the tractor, and automatic bale collection trailers.

Wrappers

Equipment used to wrap wet grass square or round bales and turn them into silage. You can use them for square bales, and if your round baler does not have a wrapping add-on, you can also buy a wrapper from this category to convert bales into silage.

Bale Consumables

Here you can buy consumables such as silage wrap film and baler twine. When you buy balers brand new, these products are already included. They run out as you use them, so you need to restock.

Beet Harvesters

Machines for harvesting sugar beet and red beet. The Amitytech 3750 Defoliator is used to cut the leaves. The Harvester Scrub then harvests the defoliated beet field. Other self-propelled machines also harvest beets, but they first need a leaf cutter.

Beet Harvester Headers

Mounted on the front of self-propelled beet harvesters to handle both leaf cutting and harvesting. Holmer and Ropa are among the best-known major beet harvester manufacturers.

Ropa Maus 5 – Beet Loader

Beet is a heavy crop, so on a medium-sized field you can harvest many tons. In that case, instead of constantly stockpiling in one place, you may want to store the harvest on the harvested field. You can then use this equipment to reload the piled harvested beets into trailers.

Potato Planters

We already covered the Seeders and Planters categories. Some specialty crops need different planters. One of them is potatoes. The equipment in this category is used to plant potatoes in the field.

Potato Technology

With the Ropa Keiler 2 RK22, Grimme Evo 290, and Grimme Ventor 4150 models in this category, you can harvest potato fields when the time comes.

Vegetable Planters

This category includes both planters and equipment that prepares the soil for seeding. For carrots, parsnips, spinach, and red beet, you can use the Kverneland Miniair Nova Rigid and Miniair Nova Fold. However, to attach these you need the Grimme GF 400 and GF 800. When buying them, enable the 3-point option in the customization screen. Vegetable planters also have very low capacity, so you can attach the Seed Tanks mentioned above. For seed, you can use a normal seed bag.

Vegetable Harvesters

Vegetable harvesting is not a one-person job by design: the harvesters have a small working width and most have no onboard hopper. Only the Dewulf GBC model has a 5.5 m? hopper. Most of these machines have a working width under 1 meter, so you can lose a lot of time. If you need equipment from this category, you may want to look at mods.

Oxbo MKB-4TR Spinach Harvester

A machine with its own 35 m? hopper used for spinach harvesting. You do not need to buy a cutter header for this machine.

Oxbo BP2140E Green Bean Harvester

A harvester with its own hopper (15 m?) and cutter header used to harvest green beans.

Oxbo EPD540E Pea Harvester

A pea harvester. It has its own hopper and cutter header.

Iseki PRJ8D Rice Planter

Equipment used to load rice seedlings and plant them in rice fields you have filled with water. A rice field is different from normal fields and is created through the Construction menu interface. Before planting, you need to flood the field with water.

Iseki HJ 6130 Rice Harvester

When the planted rice is mature, you can harvest it with this machine. It has its own hopper, and the cutter header is mounted on it.

Sugarcane Planters

Equipment used to plant sugarcane. You can use a normal seed bag as seed.

Case IH Austoft 8800 Multi-Row Sugarcane Harvester

A sugarcane harvester. If you do not tick the Trailer Hitch option in customization when buying it, you cannot collect the harvest when playing solo, because the machine has no own hopper. With this customization option, you can hitch a trailer behind the machine.

Sugarcane Transport

Contains 2 trailers you can use to transport sugar beet and chopped silage products.

Cotton Harvester

Harvest machines with a cutter header and cotton harvest hopper used to harvest cotton fields.

Cotton Transport

A category with trailers for transporting the huge cotton modules created during cotton harvest, plus one transport attachment that can be mounted on a front loader.

Rice Sapling Pallet

You can grow rice seedlings yourself in a greenhouse. If you do not want to bother with that, you can buy this product from the Consumables section.

Olive Harvesters

Growing olives is a perfectly normal activity in Farming Simulator 25. This category has two machines you can use to harvest olives. They have their own hoppers and collection areas. You do not need to attach any extra equipment.

Grape Harvester

Harvest machines with their own collection hopper that shake and collect grapes from vineyards. There are 3 different models.

The equipment here chops and blows straw (used to spread bedding straw in animal barns).

Animals > Food Category

Here you can buy ready-made animal feed and Mineral Feed for producing Total Mixed Ration (TMR).

Forestry Harvester

Equipment used to fell trees. The John Deere 843L-II model cuts a tree at the base. Other models cut the tree at the base, process it into logs of the desired length, and remove the branches.

Forestry Forwarders

The machines here have loading cranes and are used to load and transport logs elsewhere.

Excavator

You can choose its function in the customization options. It can be used to fell a tree or to move logs. If you do not select any header, you can attach excavator tools.

Excavator Tools

Attachments for excavators that handle log transport, stump clearing (removing leftover roots from felled trees), tree felling, and – with the Risutec SKB-240 head – seedling planting and soil preparation.

Wood Transport

A category with log transport trailers, with or without a loading crane. There is also a Volvo FH16 log truck.

Wood Chippers

The equipment here turns cut logs into wood chips. You can sell the chips at sell points.

Forestry Mulchers
